through them. She has worked with diverse groups of school age children and adolescents
focusing on behavioral disorders, substance abuse, and life skills education. Currently,
she provides counseling for individual adults/adolescents/children, groups, and families as
a Licensed Private Practitioner in Missouri and an Outpatient Therapist in Illinois.
Areas of Expertise include:
- Grief and Loss
- Divorce Recovery
- Interpersonal Effectiveness
- Depression
- Parenting
- Stress Management
Philosophy:
Jody believes that the single most important aspect of counseling is the therapeutic
relationship. After that, therapy should center on treating the cause of emotional problems.
She combines Cognitive Behavioral Theory with a faith-based, Humanistic Approach in order to
equip individuals with resources to effectively address and manage any issue that confronts
them in a safe, nurturing environment. She believes that people make more progress when they
understand the relationship between how their thoughts and beliefs lead to particular behaviors.
