Counseling Style: I provide talk centered therapy in an informal and friendly environment. My office is comfortable, private and homey. I take your concerns very seriously and am willing to follow you and be with you at times that are challenging and difficult. At the same time, I will celebrate and laugh with you at times of triumph. Through all these interactions and exchanges, we will work together to help you reach your goals.
Services: Individual Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, and Group Therapy. I work with adolescents and adult men and women on a variety of issues including, but not limited to: relationships, anxiety, life stresses and transitions, depression, lack of life fulfillment, teen issues, parenting issues, self esteem and empowerment, unresolved childhood issues.
Fees are $100 per hour for individual, couple and family therapy and $40 per week for group therapy. I schedule my own appointments and have flexible day or evening hours available. Sessions are usually weekly then biweekly, tapering off as issues are resolved. Phone calls between sessions are acceptable if necessary and are offered at no charge unless an actual phone session is scheduled.
My Counseling Philosophy and Goals
Philosophy: I believe that clients have within themselves an inner strength and spirit that when tapped into, allows them to work through their obstacles and negative beliefs, face their issues head on, and make choices that lead to positive change and growth.Goals:
- To provide a safe and accepting environment in which clients feel free to be themselves, express their concerns and feelings and work toward resolution of their issues.
- To provide a counseling professional with whom clients will feel a sense of connection, validation and support in their struggles.
- To cultivate a client/counselor partnership for exploration and growth.
- To assure clients that even when therapy sessions have ended, the therapeutic relationship remains and clients are always welcome to check in for a "booster shot" or refresher talk as needed.
